Fashion Revolution Day has been initiated by a global board of industry leaders, campaigners, press and academics from within the sector and beyond, who see the tragedy at Rana Plaza in Bangladesh as a metaphorical call to arms.

We want you to wear an item of clothing inside out because we want people to change the way they look at the clothes they wear. Be curious.

We want you to start asking ‘who made my clothes?’ in order to initiate human connections throughout the supply chain. Find out.

We want hundreds of thousands of people to make that gesture which will, in turn, raise awareness within the fashion industry that they need to continue the process of change. Do something about it.

Please join us on 24 April 2014

to help make this happen!

"Fashion is part of the daily air and it changes all the time, with all the events. You can even see the approaching of a revolution in clothes."

PATTERNITY MEETS PRETTY POLLY - STREETSHAPES AW13 from Patternity on Vimeo.

PATTERNITY PROUDLY PRESENT 'STRETSHAPES AW13'

A film in collaboration with PATTERNITY and filmmaker Zoe Hitchen - kicking off PATTERNITY'S exciting ongoing collaboration with hosiery specialists Pretty Polly. Inspired by the patterns found on the city streets the film features all three new designs 'TOWERBLOCK' 'SHAPESHIFTER' and 'BRICKING IT' a celebration of pattern found everywhere - from the mundane to the magnificent'

CREATIVE DIRECTION | PATTERNITY
DIRECTOR | ZOE HITCHEN
PRODUCTION | TALENT HUNGRY

ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
Cult pattern pioneers PATTERNITY have proudly joined forces with hosiery specialists Pretty Polly presenting their bold new leg-wear collection “STREETSHAPES” wearable celebrations of the patterns that surround us everywhere we go.

PATTERNITY literally ‘see pattern everywhere - from the mundane to the magnificent’ and have hit the city streets for the pattern inspiration behind their latest collaboration with Pretty Polly. PATTERNITY’S pattern designs are influenced by the everyday...the 3 piece collection featuring ‘BRICKING IT’ ‘TOWER BLOCK’ and ‘SHAPESHIFTER’ in black and nude is a reminder of the powerful presence of pattern in our everyday environment - encouraging us to look up, down and around at the world with a fresh set of eyes.

Bringing their iconic pattern exploration and geometric designs, (previously seen on award winning furniture, gallery walls, architecture, home-wares and knitwear) to Pretty Polly’s hosiery - the collection is based on the fundamental shapes that make up all matter - a bold rearrangement of circles lines, triangles and squares. The first in an ongoing series of collections with PP draws attention to urban and man-made shapes and structures. Comitted to making their designs accessible to the masses ‘STREETSHAPES’ is an exciting development of the hand printed exclusive range PATTERNITY launched at Selfridges back in 2011. Now made in England by Pretty Polly.

True to form – PATTERNITY go beneath the surface of pattern– digging deeper to use the design and application of pattern as a vehicle to encourage wearers to look at the world with a fresh set of eyes. As with all projects undertaken by PATTERNITY this is underpinned by the aim to encourage a heightened observation of the (often unnoticed) patterns that surround us everywhere we go. This is in line with the organisation’s core philosophy that:

‘A shared awareness of pattern has the power to positively engage us with our environment and each other’

These three styles will be available from Selfridges, Fenwicks, Topshop, River Island, Urban Outfitters, ASOS, Mytights.com, Bentalls, and in the US at Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Macys, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, La Maison Simons.
